Daniel Dietrich is senior consultant, researcher, activist and curator at the intersection of media, technology and society. He is interested in empowering people through open knowledge and the use technology for social good. He is honoree member of the Advisory board of Open Knowledge International and co-founder and member of the executive board of its German Chapter. He is co-founder and member of the steering committee of the global civic tech network Code for All and adviser to its local implementation Code for Germany. He is also member of the steering committee of the Open Data Working Group of the Open Government Partnership and a steward of the Open Data Charter. Today he works at the Humanist Institute for Co-operation with Developing Countries (Hivos) in the Open Society Transparency and Accountability portfolio as manager of the Open Contracting program. Over the last years he worked as a senior researcher, consultant and policy adviser with various leading organisation including Open Knowledge International, Open Data Institute, World Bank, GIZ, UNDP, and others.
