I am the Director of Publish What You Pay - United States (PWYP-US). PWYP-US is a coalition of US NGO's dedicated to creating a more transparent and accountability to the oil, gas, and mining sector. Publish What You Pay coalitions operate world wide, in over sixty countries.

The coalition recently celebrated a major advocacy success with the Securities and Exchange Commission's release of a strong implementing rule for Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act. Section 1504 requires oil, gas and mining companies to publish project-level payments to governments in all countries of operation.

In 2016, PWYP-US launched "Extract-A-Fact" - www.extractafact.org - with the goal of empowering citizens, activists and journalists to take oil, gas, and mining data and use it as a tool to demand accountability from governments and extractive companies.

I am eager to receive feedback on this initiative and to collaborate with data experts to dig deeper into the newly released oil, gas and mining payment data.
