Biography: At Natural Resource Governance Institute Anders is working open data in extractives including contracts, project data and other key data sources. He coordinates the work on ResourceContracts, the world’s largest database on extractives contracts – a partnership between Columbia University, the World Bank Group, and NRGI.

Before joining NRGI, Anders worked for more than a decade in open data, international development and journalism. At Open Knowledge (UK), he developed open data programs for governments in Tanzania and the Philippines, and headed fiscal open data work with CSOs and governments in Nicaragua, Cameroon and Mexico. Anders has also served at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), and prior to that as a journalist and media consultant, covering European affairs and international development in Somalia, Uganda and South Sudan.

Anders holds BA and MA degrees in Political Science from University of Copenhagen and is currently based in Washington, D.C.
