Title proposal: Data + Disaster Risk Resilience.

Biography: Ankur Nagar is an Open Data Specialist with the World Bank’s South Asia Disaster Risk Management team, and also supports the Bank’s Global Media Development Program. He brings open data, ICT, and information design expertise to ongoing projects that help mitigate and respond to disasters, and to projects that deliver capacity building solutions for data literacy. He began his open data journey at the Bank's Open Finances program and collaborated with the Bank’s India management team on the Open India app. He has also worked on conceptualizing data-driven solutions for agriculture and governance projects. Currently in Washington DC, he has been evangelizing open data use through Open Development Roadshows in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka and Data Literacy Workshops in Sudan. He also pitched challenges and participated in the OGP hackathon at Brasilia and the inaugural Code For India hackathon at Stanford. Ankur is a graduate in Economics, and post-graduated in Mass Communication. On Twitter, he is @openkur.
