Biography: Dr Tahu Kukutai is Associate Professor at the National Institute of Demographic and Economic Analysis at the University of Waikato, Aoteaora New Zealand. Tahu specialises in indigenous demographic research and has written extensively on indigenous population change, population data and official statistics. Tahu is a founding member of Te Mana Raraunga: the Māori data sovereignty network and is co-editor of the book Indigenous data sovereignty: Toward an agenda (ANU Press). She was formerly a journalist.
